In order to promote business development and enhance public understanding of the postal business, Chunghwa Post primarily founded the Postal Museum on December 1, 1965. However it was located at Hsintien Shitou Road where is remote and not easily accessible. To fulfill its original intent as a form of social education, the Museum was relocated to the current location in 1984.
The Postal Museum has quantitative and valuable collections and multiple display methods. Floors arranged will be classified as permanent exhibition areas between the 2nd floor to the 5th floor, in additional to exhibit stamps, postal history and cultural relics in static styles, others as play multimedia, visualization in reality, interaction games and role-playing facilities in dynamic methods are also equipped in these permanent exhibition areas. The 6th floor is classified for special exhibitions of philately or art. The 7th floor is designed for library use, contained rich special postal articles, philatelic documents, and general archives, all can be circulation to general public. At the lobby ground floor, the Service counter is provided for stamp enthusiasts who wants to buy exquisite philatelic products or for consulting only. The Audiovisual Room located on the 2nd floor and the Seminar Room, Auditorium located on the 10th floor can be leased for general public applicants.
