This Land of Sweet Potatoes - The Beauty of Fertility Special Exhibition
Taiwan was founded on agriculture, and agriculture was the lifeblood of early economic development. After entering the industrial and commercial society and acceding to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Taiwan opened up the agricultural produce market. Consequently, agriculture in Taiwan faced shocks, and the food self-sufficiency rate decreased day by day. In order to string together the emotions of the public and the land and to let the public understand local agriculture, the Museum planned this special exhibition to display postage stamps and early agricultural equipment related to the theme of "agriculture", so as to appeal to the public to "eat locally grown food", choose more local agricultural produce, support farmers to develop characteristic products, improve management capabilities, cherish the ecosystem, reduce carbon footprint, and implement a friendly environment.
