Founding of Republic Commemorative Issue

Founding of Republic Commemorative Issue

The Founding of Republic Commemorative Stamps are bearing Yuan Shih-Kai ’s (the first President of China) portrait in the center, around which is a circular panel bearing the Chinese inscription texts “Founding of the Republic” and decorated with a head of wheat stalk (major food in Northern China) on either side of the portrait. The face value, color usage, and denominations are the same as Revolution Commemorative Stamps. Both are issued from December 15, 1912 (Republic 1st Year).
